Call for Award Nominations

Author: Lisa Ostrin, OD, PhD, FAAO, FARVO

Nominations are now open for two memorial lectures to be presented at the 20th International Myopia Conference: the Chew Sek-Jin Memorial Award Lecture, recognizing a senior researcher who has made a significant impact on the field of myopia, and the ZEISS Young Investigator Award in Myopia Research & Josh Wallman Memorial Lecture, recognizing an active junior researcher who completed their PhD, equivalent research degree, or training within the past 10 years.

We encourage members of the myopia research community to consider nominating deserving colleagues. The awards committee will be co-chaired by Professors Frank Schaeffel and Christine Wildsoet. Nominations should include a supporting statement of no more than 2,000 characters and the candidate’s CV and must be submitted through the IMC website by November 1, 2026. Nominations will be reviewed by the awards committee in accordance with the published eligibility and selection criteria, available on the IMC 2027 website: https://imc2027.org/abstracts-awards/.
